The model selected for the analysis is the OLS model. By using cross-sectional data of 113 countries, it deals with the effects of the U.S. hegemony on economic growth in East Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa. Thirteen explanatory variables included: Trade balance with USA, Political Stability, Export/ GDP(%), Resource, Population, Foreign Direct Investment, Human Development Index, Corruption Perception Index, Rule of Law, Control of Corruption, Economic Freedom, Public Institution Index, and Government Effectiveness. The results of the estimation by the OLS model help to analyze the influence of the explanatory variables on the possibility of being successful economically showing how Trade with the U.S. as well as other variables explain economic growth. Based on the results, the possibility of economic success significantly depends on Trade with the U.S. which represents the U.S. hegemony. <#LINE#> @ @ Kojima K., The flying geese model of Asian economic development: Origin, theoretical extensions, and regional policy implications, Journal of Asian Economics, 11(4), 375-401 (2000) @No $ @ @ Tai H., Confucianism and economic development: An oriental alternative? Ethnicity is a term of two broad theoretical categories namely primordialism and constructivism. Each of the two has several sub-theories. Modern historians have tended to ignore primordialism in preference for new concepts like instrumentalism, cultural determinism, historicism and regionalism. Using fieldwork conducted among the Acholi and analysis of secondary data from different writers, the author contends that the theory of primordialism is relevant to the rise and metamorphosis of Acholi ethnic identity. He argues that many of the authors who have criticized Clifford Geertz’s primordialism have only been able to use the different varieties of primordialism under different names. <#LINE#> @ @ Olatunji, Pius, Cyril-Mary. This retrospective study is an attempt to see the patterns of cancers in major ethnic groups of Assam and to identify any variation of cancer patterns in these ethnic groups. The data on cancer of different ethnic groups were obtained from the Hospital Cancer Registry of a regional cancer center in Eastern India for the period of 2010 to 2012. Four major ethnic groups of mongoloids origin that were selected for the present analysis are Ahoms, Bodos, Rabhas, and Mishing. Although there was no significant variation in the pattern of occurrence of cancers in the different ethnic groups but, this study has highlighted that specific life style or food habits in ethnic group in areas with diverse ethnicity should be identified prior to planning a population based primary cancer control programme. <#LINE#> @ @ Peoples J. and Bailey G. Any economic reform that relates to compression in public expenditures will lead to reduction in social sector spending. A large proportion of the population of many states are not able to access health services in spite of the fact that social sector services are under the care of the states . In the post reform period there has been fluctuations in the public health expenditures but with the growing health awareness the state governments have started taking steps to increase the amount on public health expenditures. Our paper attempts to analyze the social sector expenditures with special reference to Public health in the pre and post-reform period. The paper has been divided into four sections, the I section is based on introduction about economic reforms and social sector along with the objectives and methodology of the study. In the II section an attempt is made to present a frame work of analysis of the effects of the economic reforms in the social sector. In section III we examine the effects of economic reforms on public health expenditures which is an important component of social sector and the section IV briefly summarizes the conclusion of the study. <#LINE#> @ @ Jain Anjali., Recent Trends of Public Expenditure on Social Services in Madhya Pradesh with special references to education and Health, Chapter5,Economics of Education, Health and Human Resource Development(ed.)
