	<Abstract>India is a developing country with majority of its masses living in rural areas. Agriculture is the main source of employment providing work to 70 percent of the rural population. Next to agriculture handloom industry plays a dominant role in the economic development of the rural mass. Handlooms are scattered in the rural and semi-urban areas. The handloom industry is an important sector in providing large-scale employment and result in the upliftment of the rural mass development. Handloom is perhaps one of the oldest industries. Even the tribal people scattered throughout the country, produce their own cloths with the elegant designs, unique color combinations and lasting texture. This study indicates a review of literature relating to the handloom industry at Madhya Pradesh. Since in recent years the industry fell into deep crisis, few conference papers, research articles journals and some standard hypothetical management and maintenance thesis are published current problems of the industry and also the researcher tries to know the problems of the industry in brief through several studies done by Indian Universities with great support of primary data as well as secondary data.</Abstract>
