The Synthesis and Spectral Characteristics of Novel 7-(4-substituted-phenyl)-2-(4-phenyl-thiazol-2-ylimino)-2,3-dihydro-thiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5-thiols

A variety of new 7-(4-substituted-phenyl)-2-(4-phenyl-thiazol-2-ylimino)-2,3-dihydro-thiazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5-thiols has been synthesized. The general synthetic route used for this purpose involves the condensation of substituted αβ-unsaturated ketones, 5-(4-substituted-benzylidene)-2-(4-phenyl-thiazol-2-ylimino)-thiazolidin-4-one with thiourea in the presence of sodium ethoxide. The structures of ring system obtained were investigated by MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
