Abstract

Sothuparai is situated at Periyakulam in Theni District and it is 9 km away from Periyakulam. Sothuparai dam supplies water to Periyakulam throughout the year. The physico chemical parameters of sothuparai reservoir water samples were analyzed for a period of six months from June to November 2013. The Parameters such as water temperature, PH,turbidity, total dissolved solids, total hardness, electrical conductivity, magnesium, calcium and chloride were within the permissible limits and can be used for irrigation and domestic purpose.
